Electrical Issues - Parking Sensors/ E-Brake

Hey guys,

I have read through the electrical thread issues but may have missed the solutions if any to some of these problems. I own a 2015 5.0 non ultimate. Lately while at signals or even driving at slow speeds, the front parking sensors start randomly going off. It usually only happens once in awhile but is very annoying when their are no objects or cars around you.

I also have had issues with the e-brake going on automatically, luckily I have not had any issues getting it to turn off, but I had read that people had that issue as well.

Also have some rattles in the passenger side A-Pillar, and rear passenger side, and camera but hard to determine were it is coming from.

My dad had the same issue with his parking sensors... Ended up being excess turtle wax in the sensor crevices. You have anything filling the gaps up?

I also have had issues with the e-brake going on automatically, luckily I have not had any issues getting it to turn off, but I had read that people had that issue as well.

The parking sensors do seem to have a mind of their own and the sensitivity seems to vary. Try turning them off and on. For some reason this seems to reset them and reduce the random alarms.

If your "Auto-Hold" is switched on, then the E-Brake will go on as soon as the car comes to a halt. It should automatically release as soon as you press the gas pedal.

I have noticed that when the front sensors start going off at, say a traffic light, there is always a Ford product in the front of me... I haven't had the sensor go off with any other brand.

The parking brake will automatically activate when you turn off the car AND you had 'Auto-Hold' active.

My sensors start to go off when I am in back or along side a Tesla. No problem with Fords.

Regarding the sensors going off at red lights, it seems to be whenever a car with metallic paint is in front of us.

I have noticed the sensors can be picky about whether they beep or not when I'm parking, so I will try cycling them off/on as suggested.

My parking sensors go nuts when passing Nuclear Power Plants.........just kidding.
Their sensitivity does vary and I have noticed they play up more when behind other cars with parking sensors, so maybe there is some interactive interference. Definitely slush, snow or ice and even insects seem to affect their performance.

my front parking sensors used to go off randomly when stopped at lights even though i had plenty of space in front. turned out to be rock chip on one of the sensors and hasn't gone off since it was replaced. it wasn't covered under warranty but dealer covered the 2 hour labor and i paid $140 for part.
