Electrical Problem killing my Battery

I have a 2009 Genesis 3.8, I am have problems with my electrical system. Within the past three months, I had to replace my battery 3 time now. I was driving and I hit the accelerator and the my car just went complete dead, no power to anything. I was able to jump it off but the battery, that I just replace was trashed would not hold a charge. I replace that battery and it happen again. I took it the dealer and they ran an check of the electrical system and wasn't able to find anything wrong. That batter held a charge up until this week and now I am on my third battery.

Has anyone else experience this problem before or have any suggestion on what I need to checked or replaced? I guess I may be asking to much of the technologies in cars these days but shouldn't these type of issues be recorded in the cars computer log somewhere?

Something in your electrical system is causing a parasitic draw on the battery. First thing is to have your alternator checked for proper output. Generally this can causes the battery to go flat if you're not putting out the proper amperage to the battery. If it's not the alternator, it maybe a switch of other part of the electrical system that is causing the draw.

Are you utilizing any plug-in accessories like; radar detector, dash camera or anything that might be putting a constant draw on the battery with the vehicle shut off?

There have been some similar reports from members. Some due to alternator failure, others to shorting electrical switches not functioning correctly.

How long are you letting the vehicle set between use?

Your dealer needs to do a complete diagnostic of the electrical system to find the culprit.

Yes, I had the Hyundai dealership run complete electrical system check and they said everything checked out. The other thing I have plug into my electrical system is my phone charger. My car doesn't sit unused more than a day, two at top.

Phone charger "shouldn't" use much power even it it was working. . . but you just never know. If the dealer can't find it you may have to find someone that specializes in auto electric systems. Also, never had a car that could not sit 7 to 10 days so your time down is not a problem.

I let our G80 sit for 3 months and didn't have a problem. I would only occasional start it and let it run till it came up to temp then shut it off. I keep it on a smart charger now as I suggest to one of the members for longer term storage.

I would get a second opinion on your electrical system. What test did they do on the alernator. Ground wires all solid and tight?

Maybe an independent shop that can accurately diagnose the issue.

I am looking for another shop to take it too to have someone else look at it.. I am not sure what test they ran but with little knowledge of automotive electrical system. I asked if they checked: alternator, charging system, voltage regulator, if today's cars still used them and they said yes to everything I asked about. But doing my

Assuming it will run, I would be trading it in on something else. I had a '99 Pontiac that ran like a top until I had it detailed. I they asked if I wanted the enging stream cleaned and I said sure. From then on, I never knew if it would start. IF it did starr, I never knew if it would start the next time I tried to start it in a different location. I had it in the shop a few times and they couldn't find anything wronge other than it was electical.

Traded it in and let someone else worry about it. The takeaway here is it's NOT dependable.

Having the same issue now as we are talking what is the shortage about I'm on my third battery as well what is the issue
