  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked. I did a search and turned up nothing obvious.

In any case, last night I pulled into my driveway and after getting out of the car I noticed my sunroof was still open. The only way I was able to close the sunroof was to turn on the car (and start the engine) again. Is there any way to turn on the electrical system of the car without starting the engine (similar to turning the key halfway in a conventional ignition)? It seems wasteful to start the engine just to roll up a window or close the sunroof.

Thanks
Jason

If you don't press down the brake pedal with you foot you can press the start button twice and get the electrical systen on, close the sun roof and then press the start button once more to turn everything off.

Some things like the windows and rear shade will work after you turn the car off, so long as you don't open the doors first. The sunroof however needs to be closed exactly as mentioned by JOwest.
