  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recent Consumer Reports tests confirmed that the electrified GV70 is one of a number of Hyundai and Kia EVs whose brake lights do not illuminate when using the more aggressive level3 and i-pedal braking modes and the driver does not lift their foot competely off the accelerator pedal. Hyundai/Genesis has responded to CR's discovery by announcing, "Hyundai and Genesis will be launching a field service campaign to update the EV brake light logic for the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Genesis Electrified G80, Genesis Electrified GV70, and Genesis GV60." If you lift your foot completely off the accelerator pedal, the brake light will come on.

The brake lights come on on my GV70e when I lift my foot the accelerator in level 2, 3 and iPedal.

Did you unintentionally omit the word "off" in your comment?

Please reread the report which in part states, "the electrified GV70 is one of a number of Hyundai and Kia EVs whose brake lights do not illuminate when using the more aggressive level3 and i-pedal braking modes and the driver does not lift their foot completely off the accelerator pedal.

I did omit the word off unintentionally. Thanks for catching that.

So when I drive a manual transmission car and down shift to slow down my brake lights don't go on... What's the difference when I raise my foot off the pedal?

They released Service Campaign 908G on Oct 12 for this issue

There is no difference. The driver behind you will not have any visual evidence you are slowing down.
