  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Using the setting that minimizes engine noise, the car still sounds quite “throaty”. Certainly more noisy than one would expect a luxury sedan to sound. Have tried all the other settings but the engine noise remains unchanged. With the engine on I make a selection. The sound doesn’t change. The engine is shut off and the car restarted. Still no change. Am I doing this correctly or is there something wrong with the feature. I’m hesitant to take it to the dealer because of the cost involved to check it out.

I went into the settings on my 2019 G80 and turned the Active Sound down as low as it would go but I couldn’t turn it completely off. It is much more pronounced in Sport mode. Does changing the drive mode change your sound?

I haven’t tried changing the drive mode. It’s presently in ”comfort mode” (read old lady mode). Its unlikely that I would use any other mode. I will try it though to see if it makes a difference. Right now the car sounds almost like it has an exhaust leak.

The fake sound is crap. Fortunately, my '23 has an 'OFF' setting, so that's where it is since day 1.
