    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just replaced my air filter and cleaned the cabin filter on my Genesis for the 15K mile maint.

I looked at my dealer's maint list. Can anyone explain what is the Air cleaner Element and Engine Air Filter?

Air cleaner Element is the cabin air filter that resides behind the glove box and is recommended to be changed once a year or 15k miles, which ever comes first.
The engine air filter, 30k miles or every 2 years.

OK, then what is item number 2 on the list that says replace Cabin Air Filter?

I am guessing that Air Cleaner Element is something like perfume or air purifier slotted inside or something?

Engine air filter and cabin air filter is what TJ said

A duplicate. Just a guess is this sheet coming from a dealer?

like all dealers, they like to do things above and beyond what is recommended by Hyundai, to make more money.
i usually don't get any dealer recommended services, as i simply follow what the manual says.
btw, how much did this 15k miles service cost?

The owner's manual, maintenance chapter (chapter 7 for my 2009 car) lists a few filters, the replacement schedules are:
* engine oil & oil filter: 12 months/7500 miles
* Interior climate control air filter: 12 months/15,000 miles
* fuel filter: 30 months/30,000 miles
* engine air cleaner filter: 24 months/30,000 miles
* Fuel tank air filter: 24 months/30,000 miles <-- maybe the dealer's list wants to be this though their wording sucks?

Other than the oil & cabin filters, none of the engine/powertrain filters specify replacement every 15,000 miles - just inspections - for normal driving conditions. For "Severe Usage" conditions, the Hyundai manuals say "More Frequently" but they don't specify actual numbers. 15K miles between inspections is fine; only 15K for replacement is likely overly-aggressive ($$) on the dealer's part.
