  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Stupid question coming...On the V6 model, do you really have to remove a bar to get to the air filter housing? What is the purpose of that bar?

Yes, you need to remove it. The bar is to provide structural support to enable the car to pass the newest crash tests on the front corner of the car.

Here is an explanation:

"To help drive further improvements in frontal crash protection, the Institute in 2012 introduced a small overlap frontal crash test. The test is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or an object like a tree or utility pole."

Lol. Ok, so just remove the two bolts and it slides right out?
