  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

We bought a used 2015 with 36K. We've had it since 2018 and now has 44k on it. It shut off three times while driving recently, . So we towed it to the dealership and they are telling us they can't find any problems? We LOVE this car but having regrets about buying it now after reading about this unique problem. Any suggestions with dealing with the dealership we purchased it from?

I bought my 2019 G70 new, and it now has @48,000 miles. @3 weeks ago I made a stop, and the car would not restart. Eventually, it started by pressing the start button with the key fob. It took 2 weeks to get an appointment with the dealer. No additional problems, and the dealer could not find anything. I got the car back on Tue. Thursday it did the same thing. Saturday it did it again, and was more difficult to restart. Sunday, it shut off @6 times, always at a stop. Very difficult to restart, although it eventually did. Obviously, this car is neither safe nor reliable. Hopefully, the dealer can do better this time.

Hey there! My gv80 has done that over 10x now too!!! I’m having the exact problem. Taken it to the dealership 3x and they say nothing is wrong and can’t duplicate the problem. Pleaseeeeeeee let me know if you find a solution. I’m at my wits end. I love this car but it’s so dangerous and frustrating with the engine shutting off.

Call Genesis directly. Open a case with them.

Has the problem happened again? My daughters 2009 randomly cuts off. Everything goes blank, sometimes the screen flickers too. It usually restarts on its own soon after but I’ve had to jump it twice. It has 144k on it but runs great otherwise. After researching we found there have been issues with the negative battery cable. I’m trying that first. Will mention crank position sensor and CMU to my mechanic friend.

Neither of those would cause the screens to go blank or flicker. Your problem is complete loss of electrical power.

Yes it’s weird….my mechanic had it for a week but it didn’t act up but once when he came out of a parts store it wouldn’t start. He waited a few minutes then it restarted. He checked all the grounds and tightened everything he could. Thinks it could be the negative cable. They are out of stock everywhere I’ve looked.
