  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All!

It just occurred to me today that I don't think I've ever seen the light on the engine start button illuminate on my Genesis.

When should I see this this light come on??

Have you checked the illumination button on the left side of your dash?? If it's turned down, it might be the cause for not seeing the light

We've had our car since Feb. and I have not taken the time to sit and work out the Korean logic behind the little light on the start button...but you are correct that it does not seem to be on when you might expect it to be....

It is definitely NOT on when the car is running. I know I have seen it on in other circumstances though...It may be on when you press the brake, but have not started the car yet, or when you press the button without the brake to get into ACC mode...

Without a logic diagram from Hyundai, you would have to sit and play with it to work out it's behavior...

1. Ignition OFF, LED OFF
2. Ignition ACC, Amber color LED ON
3. Ignition ON (Engine OFF), Blue color LED ON
4. Cranking, Maintain LED status before cranking
5. Engine running, LED OFF
