  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Engine tapping knocking-Oil level is full

What oils did you use before that didnt solve the issue?
the dealer changed it.. I changed the oil 2 times and filter and it quiet it down to like before.. smooth....

The dealers often use conventional oil to save money, even though full synthetic is recommended. I'd use full synthetic going forward.

My dealer charges an extra $45 to use full synthetic, but I can buy the oil itself for less than that. So I buy the oil and leave it on the front seat and they put that in at no additional charge. (Or so they say, as far as I know it gets moved to somebody's trunk for their weekend oil change!)

But this is only when I take the car in for other reasons. Otherwise, I change my own oil every 5-6k miles.

I have the same issue it just all the sudden started to happen I took apart the top-end valve cover and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the cams are valves it's a very loud noise sounds like a engine rod oh, I just don't get how it could just start over night. When I rev up the engine on the way down it makes kind of marble rolling together noise. When I unplug one of the injectors the noise goes away, which points to A-Rod I've Been Told. I have the valve covers off and everything looks fine oh, any ideas I know these engines have catastrophic failures and nobody seems to know the reason why
@ Stang5o84 Try changing the oil and filter if you have not. I change it to what the Manual stated.. Quaker State 5w-20 FULL SYNTHETIC , around 7.5 quarts if I recall.
