If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've tried instructions to enable Engineering sub-menu (##0324#0704##) on my 2011 Genesis 4.6, but it doesn't appear to work. Any tips on this?

Thanks.

Same here -- Thought maybe I was doing it wrong...

Well, I figured it out myself! Realizing there is a ENG menu (by pressing these buttons simultaneously: Disc/AUX, Navi/Menu, Back and the Volume Knob on the DVD player) from the service bulletin. If you go to the Software update submenu, there is a "To full ENG full mode" item listed. When you select it, it prompts for a key code. So first I tried ##0324#0704##, no luck, but then I tried 0324, and it worked! Once you enter the code, on the left hand side there are now a few more menu items that make up the full engineering mode.

I don't know what some of those items mean, but very cool, nevertheless.

Ok, good news. Is there anything of note to the newly added menu options?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Here are all of the options, I think, based on following these instructions in my car just now. Some are able to be modified, and some are just readouts.

Scared for now to change some of the settings. :-) Some I find curious, though -- Like the DVD Region setting does appear to be modifiable which I'm really surprised by.

Anyone see anything of particular interest?

some of this stuff seems really interesting, and most of it is very unclear. Is there any way to get a breakdown of what each of these settings mean and are for?

I fooled around a little bit with changing the country to Korea, China and the Middle-east options hoping to get rid of the darn acceptance screen when the navigation/radio first turns on. No luck. The only change seemed to be switching the XM button to the AM band or something else not available in the US depending on the country.

Anyone else experiment with this?

I tried saving to USB so I could fiddle around with it but I get USB not recognized. Does anybody else get this?

No idea why, but I have a sneaking suspicion that in addition to the H-logo shown on the Nav's screen at startup, the KDM Wing-logo is already contained in the installed code and can be set to display instead via some menu option.
I know I'd rather see a Wing than the H. I wonder if there's any details published for all these settings.

you can get the nav screen to display GENESIS PRADA instead of the lazy H by the engineering mode. select varient, system varient settings, prada - toggle to on.

I did this but once i went to variant then to system variant, there is no "prada" option to toggle on/off??? I have 2011 genesis 4.6! Help!

The same on mine, no "Prada" option. 2011 4.6.

The codes didn't work for me :(

Worked okay on mine. Also turned on a bunch of functions but don't notice any differences other than some additional icons on the bottom of the screen.

Peter: What year do your have?

I'm still waiting for my '11 4.6 and would love to set it to the Prada boot screen instead but several people here seem to indicate it won't work? Oh well it will be until Wednesday next week until I can test it

Does anyone know how to enable the engineering mode on a 2013 R-Spec? The buttons identified in the original post...Disc/AUX, Navi/Menu, Back and the Volume Knob on the DVD player...don't exist in my car, at least in that form.

Is this thread still active?

I just discovered this and was wondering if anyone had any more details about the various option available through this menu.
