  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys,

Just bought a 2011 4.6L sedan and I’m liking it so far, except for one little thing. The enter function on the jog dial intermittently works, and then it doesn’t. I notice it the most when I start up the car and I can’t get the display to change out of the “don’t look at the screen while driving” screen.

I’ve looked through previous postings, but don’t see any previous mentions, so I apologize if this has been covered before. I’m hoping that there’s an easy fix other than replacing the console.

Thanks for your advice!

Found my answer on previous posts. There’s some sort of contaminant/oxydation in the button. Working the button around seems to have cleared the schmoo. Contact cleaner has been ordered and I’ll have to dismantle the dial and clean it once the cleaner arrives.

Thank you! I'm having the same problem and will try your solution!

It works, but you have to reapply it every so often. Usually gums up again when it gets really hot outside.
