EPB and Auto hold failure

Hi all, I searched the forums but couldn't find the answer to my question. The EPB and auto hold lights both turned orange in my 2012 Genesis sedan (3.8) and the parking brake won't release. Turning the car on and off worked once, has not worked since.

The dealership is telling me that it needs a new electronic parking brake assembly (parking brake motor) which they would like to charge me over $3000 for.

I'm trying to find a used or aftermarket part but can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find this part on the cheap? Has anyone else been down this road?

I'd hate to scrap this car because it's in great shape, runs terrific, and most importantly PAID for. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the junk yards? Some have extensive networks to find your part.

I have to wonder if it can be rebuilt by a motor shop.

you don't need to change a new assembly. just change the motor inside the assembly/

I sold the car. Bought a Scat Pack. I could not find the part at any junkyard in a 100 mile radius from me. I searched for weeks before I decided to cut bait.

I went to eBay motors and got one off a totaled (front end damage) in AZ for $200. Has part number stamped on it, same one as dealer wanted $2400 for. Haven’t installed yet, but better than $3900 dealer wanted.
