  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello Guys,

I lost all braking power last week and took it to a mechanic as I knew it had a line leak somewhere. He found it on the Right Rear (Driver rear) and replaced the brake line.

Picking up the car I tried the parking brake and it had a really nasty grinding noise and the EPB is now active and wont release. It sounds like the caliper on that side is now not engaging or something else.

I found a video of what is happening and its the same exact thing:

I tried the EPB release tool in the trunk and pulled the lever but the parking brake still engages on the car. Please help.

Okay, not sure what to do but had the mechanic take the plug out from under the car. He said it wont be an issue with the rain etc and that it would be difficult to chant the EPB module as the subframe is in the way. I can see if I can get one from ebay or something? until then I have I have the EPM light, not parking brakes and no autohold (bummed) but at least the brakes are not locked and its drivable.

Not sure if it will pass inspection in PA.......

If anyone comes across this please respond and thank you in advance...
