  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just purchased a 2013 Equus with 13k miles - it is a cherry!
Traded my 2012 Kia Optima SX TDi.
I've reviewed the Owner's Manual and pushed all the buttons, but do not find that there is an automated reminder for oil and maintenance. My Kia had a reminder that was reset at each oil and tire rotation. Did I miss something or am I back to having to actually keep track of such things?
Don't get me wrong, I love the Equus with all it's fancy bells and whistles, just thought maintenance reminders were commonplace now. Thanks for any help.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on your Hyundai Equus! It's one heck of a car - isn't it?! If I'm not mistaken - you have an oil life indicator that at the very least will come on to let you know "oil change time" is nearing... If I'm mistaken I'm sure somebody will correct me but I do believe you'll see something beforehand - unless there's a malfunction with the indicator...

Go to the www.myhyundai.com website and register. Then you can download the owner's manual which should hopefully tell you about any such features.

Not sure about the 2013 but on my 2015 Equus there is a service tool
location on the steering wheel control where you can set up service
reminders either by date or by mileage. I found it by mistake while
looking to adjust the heads up display. Not sure if you have the
Signature, or Ultimate. May not be available on Signature.

Great information. Thank you!

I was afraid of that. Guess I'll have to keep those ugly oil change klingons on my window.

Somehow I don't even notice those anymore...

I have a 2013 Equus Ultimate and responded to a CarFax ad to register the car and they would give me notices, etc. I have three cars on this program and benefit from receiving notices, and also the maintenance performed goes on the Carfax, showing what was performed. If you go to a shop that reports to Carfax, it's automatically added. If the dealer or service center does not notify CarFax, you have a way of entering the info yourself.

How To Reset Hyundai Equus Service Required Light in 5 Easy Steps!
  1. Turn the engine ON
  2. If service is due the display will show -Service required- when the vehicle is turned on
  3. While the message is displayed press and hold the OK button on steering wheel for more than 1 second
  4. The service interval will reset to the default setting
  5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to confirm the message/light has been reset
Equus service interval is set to 7500 mi
