  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Equus Air Suspension

Bro I had a `98 Expedition with air suspension. Gave me so many problems I said I would never buy a vehicle with that system again. The worst feeling in the world coming out to go to work and the ass of the truck is sitting on the ground. You are correct air suspension will always be an issue and I`m not rich so there you have it.

Number 4 is the little cover, also see picture.
The Schrader fitting is usually a spring loaded quick connect. The one on the car has external threads, so an adaptor of some sort is required to connect an air source.
You are right. The one on my Equus has threads. Where can you get an adapter to fit it? I was looking at the one on eBay item number 112337234254 wondering if it could be used to replace the one that's on the car. Tell me what you think.

I just read the topic on "Air Injection Procedure". Looks like I'm going to have to have mine towed in to the shop and have it done by the professionals . I just don't have the equipment to do it myself and according to the procedure you have to have it initially charged after replacing the Solenoid Valve Block.

Not sure what size or thread to use to connect to the threaded fitting in the Equus. Its probably metric. Maybe try a visit to a Mercedes Mech Shop and see if they can share info about air suspensions or maybe a non-Hyundai dealership mechanic shop. Where I live they are some shops that specialize in European imports, but Korean and Japanese not so much. So we are boxed into going to the dealership. Keep us posted.

Curious if anybody knows how to do a "hard reset" on the ECS on the Equus after the battery has been disconnected to get the air suspension to work again? I have heard that when the battery is having issues it can cause the ECS light to come on and turn off the air suspension to insure that the compressor is not running to prevent it from overheating and burning out. I can't figure out how to get it to go back on.
