  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone been able to get the sales figures on the Equus for the month of January? The only info I could get was the press release from Hyundai saying the car is selling better than "some luxury models" whatever that means.

Thank you. It sounds to me like they are off to a good start if I am correct? What was their yearly goal estimates?

Last I saw, they were estimatiing 2-3000 total. They sold 196 in December, 254 in January, which works out to about 2700 for 12 months.

We'll see, but so far so good.

I think that is excellent considering I personally have seen little to no televised advertising for the car. Maybe sales should get even better now that we are moving away from the snowy months to more warmer climates (rear-wheel drive).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Is this total for U.S.-only sales, or does it include other regions?

Speaking of which, is the Equus even available outside of Korea and America yet?

Indeed.....available in Canada for $63K and $70K for the two trims.

A few weeks ago, one dealer told me that they sold four of them so far. At that time, he had one sitting on the lot. I passed by a couple days ago, and they still have that same one sitting there.

I've learned to not to believe everything dealers tell me. They want to to sound like they are selling like hot cakes.

Plenty of advertising around sporting events, especially golf and basketball. I have seen the Equus commercials while watching both.

Hyundai Equus Selling Briskly With 5 Percent Of Luxury Market Share

For all the skepticism surrounding the Hyundai Equus, the Korean luxury sedan appears to be doing well, even exceeding Hyundai’s own expectations.

Hyundai’s Midwestern PR head Dean Bedore gave us some insight into the success of the Equus, noting that it currently has a 5 percent market share of the luxury car segment, while Hyundai itself has the same overall market share. Bedore noted that the only thing stopping Hyundai from selling more of them was a lack of supply.

Equus sales are currently outpacing brands like Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, along with sports cars like the BMW Z4, Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R. We are well aware of the apples vs. oranges nature of these kinds of comparisons, but we still found it neat that a $58,000 Hyundai is succeeding when even 5 years ago, such a notion would have been unthinkable.

Good news :)

With 8 sold Canada wide in the month of February...
I think they have targeted 100 for the 2011 model year Canada wide.
