  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was on RT 22 in NJ today and on a whim I stopped by Global Hyundai in N. Plainfield. They had just rolled a brand new Equus on to the floor. Very impressive and Lexus LS like. Makes the Genesis look small and cheap.

Makes the Genesis look small and cheap, Ted? I certainly hope not. The result of your comparison is rather harsh.

That's like saying the S-Class makes the E Class look small and cheap. It's just silly and unnecessary. Not everyone wants/needs/desires a luxobarge. Not that I have anything against the Equus, quite the opposite actually, but they both have their place. Having finally seen one up close, I wouldn't say the Equus is worlds apart from the Genesis in terms of feel/appearance. It's nicer, but it's not like the Genesis is a 7 and the Equus is a 10, so to speak.

Actually prefer the design language of the Genesis on the exterior - more of a sporty/aggressive look.

As for interiors - don't care for the design of either dash, otoh - the 2011's Sonata's dash look pretty sweet (how many people would prefer the design of the Sonata's dash on the Genesis?).

I definitely agree that the interior designs of the Genesis and Equus look outdated and dull in comparison to the 2011 Sonata. But personally the Genesis exterior while attractive, is somewhat too bland for my tastes so I prefer the Equus as the overall exterior design elements seems to have a little more pizazz!

I understand that "small and cheap" is probably offensive to Genesis owners here - but I don't feel that Ted meant to offend anyone. It's okay to express these feelings - but my personal opinion is that some of us here may need to grow a little thicker skin. Sue me.
