  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking at purchasing a Signature model because I need 5 passenger seating. I would not miss most of the Ultimate upgrades with the exception of the front camera.

I know the Signature model does not come with the front camera as an option, but, my hope is that all the necessary electronics are in place and I may be able to have the dealer install the camera.

Does anybody have any insight into if this is possible?

Thanks

Don't know how much of the wiring might be present... but odds are the "big ticket" items are in fact ready for the front camera. While perusing the "hidden" settings menu of my 2009 Genesis Tech (there is a different thread with the magic sequence to get you into this menu) there was an ON/OFF setting for the "front camera" - and the factory service manuals show an empty connector on the back of the Tech system's head unit for a front camera. So the camera, a different front grill, the cable/wires, and going into this service menu appears to be are all it would take to add the camera to a Genesis sedan. The Equus A/V system is a variant/kissing-cousin of the Genesis one, right? I'll bet it too has the extra connector and magic menu setting.

www.hmaservice.com has the factory service manuals available to anybody that signs up. I don't know if Equus manuals are online yet or not; I haven't looked for them. The index leaves a bit to be desired too.

Yes, the Equus and Genessi share the same A/V system.

Thank you for the information, it seems very encouraging.

Now I need to talk to the service manager and see if I can make this happen.

I'd like the auto-trunk open/close added.

I know this is an old thread but....were you able to add the front camera to your signature?
