  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First noticed it today. Car is 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0. This is first time I've seen the light come on, just before parking. I turned off the car and restarted, and it was still on.

Anyone know what causes this?

did you press the ESC off button?

I got 100 feet down the road this morning and the ESC light (It was ESC in blue, not the ESC OFF light in orange) turned off and hasn't come back since. Yesterday it turned on as it started to rain.

From the owner's manual:

"The ESC indicator will illuminate when
the ignition switch is turned ON, but
should go off after approximately 3 seconds.
When the ESC is on, it monitors
the driving conditions and under normal
driving conditions, the ESC light will
remain off. When a slippery or low traction
condition is encountered, the ESC
will operate, and the ESC indicator will
blink to indicate the ESC is operating.
The ESC indicator stays on when the
ESC may have a malfunction. Take your
car to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer
and have the system checked."

Thanks. It turned off, and it hasn't come back on since.

I have similar issue. I have Hyundai Genesis 2009 sedan 3.8 L Engine. Noticed ESC indicator stays on all the time. Is there anyway to turn it off?
Exactly I have an 09 4.6 tech with esc light on…
