  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Estimated prices

LS3 is not more expesive to make than the LS2, or the LS1 was...

My 06 GTO with a 400hp LS2, 6spd, leather, power everything, cruise, etc. etc. etc. was 28,400 new, out the door. (That includes TTL). Keep in mind that the GTO was built in Austrailla and shipped to the USA (All GTO's were built in Aus.).. which added a good amount to the sales price by the time they were done with shipping, customs, and import duties...

If it was built in the USA, I would guess that they could of sold it closer to 25k and maintained the same profit margins.

So I really don't see why they couldn't offer a V8 Camaro 6spd for sub-30k... Especially now they are subsidized with american tax payer money, that they never have to pay back....

Just tell them you won't pay it and to start negotiating from true MSRP. They can't be doing that good to turn away a potential customer. They tried the same thing with me and I told them (politely) that I won't even take a test drive if they won't waive the market adjustment. They relented immediately and I ended up paying $1,000 over invoice.

It really depends on the type of dealership your heading to - some are volume dealers, others are smaller dealers.

In this economy, $500-$1000 over invoice is a good price considering the market, hard bargaining with a volume dealer you may be able to go to invoice.

Of course, the car is brand new so waiting a few months doesn't hurt either. Plus it lets Hyundai make the inevitable adjustments and tweaks (like the sedan has received).
