  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Stopped at the new Exxon station in town on the way home from work and was surprised to see a pump with 89 octane ethanol free gasoline. Not only that, it was 15 cents per gallon cheaper than the E-85. I didn't try it because I didn't notice it until I already pumped a tank full of E-85. Has anyone run across any ethanol free gas and if so have you used it in your Genesis?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I hope you didn't put E-85 in your Genesis -- perhaps you meant E-10??

Yes, I and others here have put ethanol-free (puregas) in our cars. They run better, IMO, and I try to run puregas every few tankfuls when possible. I have seen 89 and 91 octane puregas here in Minnesota and 92 in Wisconsin.

:)

Here’s a web site that has a definitive list of ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada.

Yes. I meant 10% ethanol. Thanks for the info guys I'm going to try the ethanol free gas next fill-up.

I run ethanol-free, Shell V-Power, and there's only one station in my region where I can find it, and know it's pure (the station never had ethanol blends). However, I think the "E10" version of V-Power (and the other top brands) is just as good in the short term, such as on a trip. I'm not even a Shell person, and historically used Amoco, BP and Exxon. Chevron is non-existent where I live, or I'd probably choose their Techron Premium. Anyway, yes, the differences are very noticeable, especially if you can find a "Top Tier" Premium E0.

Damn, not a single station in Austin, Houston, or anywhere in-between.

You might be able to find some E0 if you call some marinas near Austin. They may not allow you to put it directly into your car, but you could maybe try to fill up a gas can and then put it in your car (for test purposes only, since obviously this would be impractical on a regular basis).
