  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Many others with this experience. In fact, it seems to be the single most common mechanical failure with the tech package.

My '09 failed so often and for so long that it was finally bought back by Hyundai. If you have not already done so, take it to a dealer while it is still in failure and get it documented.

This happened often on 2009 Genesis'. If you turn ignition off, then back on again, the audio still will be off. If you let the car sit, as when you go for groceries, or go buy fuel, that at the next start up, if the car sat for over 5 minutes, you got all your audio back. Happened to me a few times. Dealer replaced the amplifier, and no more problems. Others with the same problem also got it corrected with an amplifier replacement.

Good luck.

Sarge is correct. If you are close to your dealer, drive direct to them, and DO NOT SHUT OFF THE IGNITION, so they can see what is happening. If you shut the ignition off, by the time the Service Writer and/or Techincian come out to take a look, and you restart the car, the audio will be working again.

36,000k warrenty on audio and DIS. This has happened to me a couple times... hasn't happened in a while though...
