  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Exhaust for 3.8 V6 Sedan

Do you have stock tips still on it or aftermarket? I think if I do anything to mine next is secondary cat and resonator delete and replacing the resonator spot with a borla muffler.

Stock tips currently, but will likely get some quad tips in the coming months. Still looking for some.

The tips make a world of difference in my opinion. I went to my local advance auto and picked some up for around 32 a piece. It sounds more contained with the rolled tip rather than the stock flats.

Do you happen to know the stock outlet size of the exhaust piping? Or what would be the inlet size of the tips? I've read different measurements, from 2.25-2.5 inch but just want to confirm.

The pipe itself is 2 and a quarter if I'm not mistaken. The stock tip inlet is goes into a 2.5 right after the mufflers.

I believe the different measurements come from the location people are measuring them at. I ran into the same dilemma I approached removing the mufflers with replacement 2.5 but it ended up being 2.1/4 so had to get more pipe than I anticipated on.

I have a 2012 sedan 3.8L and I bought a 4.6L magnaflow catback exhaust and it bolted right on. Exhaust shop charged me $130 for installation and he said it was no big deal. It sounds sooo good and aggressive especially when you hit it!
Could you give me the link of the website you bought the exhaust off of?

I have a 2015 hyundai genesis sedan and am looking to replace the muffler. However, I haven't been able to find the factory measurements for the inlet and outlet I would need on the new muffler. Does anyone know where to find these?

I am looking to replace my oem muffler with a performance muffler on my 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan 3.8. However I haven’t been able to find the factory muffler inlet and outlet diameters anywhere. Does anyone know where to find these?
