  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

exit/entry convenience system not working

I just got a 2021 G80 used 18,000 miles. The steering wheel moves on entry/exit but not the seat. I moved the driver's seat almost all the way forward and saved it as my driver 1. It still does not move when I open or close the door. Something is definitely wrong. I contacted Genesis and supposedly somebody is going to call me since I do not have a Genesis dealer anywhere close to where I live.
I had the same problem. Took it to one dealer. They had the audacity (read: balls) to say that this was a courier car and the drivers seat did not have convenience feature. What a laugh, since Genesis has videos showing it in use. Alas, I went to a second dealership and they fixed it by re-programming the unit. That did it. So, not all Genesis dealers are the same, and my dealership in Virginia Beach I will never go to again if I can help it. They simple aren't educated enough to understand this car.

My '23 has TWO settings: steering wheel, and seat. My car only had the steering wheel moving, which I thought was odd, but didn't want anything moving, so went into the settings to uncheck 'easy entry'. And that's when I noticed the seat was separate. Worth going into the settings to check it out :).

There is no problem

But there IS a problem. Have the same issue of the easy exit access not working. In my case, I know that it worked at one time. In fact I had to put my bag on the back seat instead of behind the driver seat as the seat would squish it when it went back. My seat used to move to both regular and extended positions, then just stopped. dealer told me it's too far back to go back further. I'm 5' 9". Not tall. It used to work.

I have the same issue. The problem is, that it used to work. I know it. I experimented with both normal and extended modes and ended up using normal mode. Then, all at once last year it stopped working.

Had my car at a dealer for over 3 months trying to fix it. I even went to another dealer and test 3 other g70's. Only issue here was that I have a '19 and these were 24's. They didn't move either. My dealer tried a couple and they didn't move either. Dealer replaced the module. Didn't fix. Yes, the steering works and yes the seat goes back much further....I'm 5' 9", so it's not like I have to move it far back anyway.

Could this be a software issue?

You are right here regarding the leg room I think. The rear leg room and more so the toe room is the problem with this car. I am guessing that they did not want to crush the rear passenger's toes by moving it back and programmed it to behave like it does. Sometimes I wonder if this car was initially designed to be a 2 door coupe.
Google AI suggests that all cars do this:

No, a car with "Easy Entry/Exit" typically does not move the seat all the way back to the rear seat position. Instead, it moves the driver's seat slightly backward and upward, and in some cases, also the steering wheel, to provide more space for getting in and out. This is designed to make it easier for the driver to enter and exit the vehicle, especially in tight spaces or when getting in or out of the car is difficult.
