  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2016 Hyundai Genesis with a frontal proximity warning system. I bought the car new. I get a proximity warning if stopped at a red light in traffic with all cars around me stopped and not moving. The dearler told me it was possibly dirt on the sensor but I doubt that. It is very intermettent. Has happened about 6 times in 12000 miles. Has anyone else had this problem? How do you attach a video? I have one I took with my cell phone. The video is an MP4.

It was dirt on the sensor.

Yes, its usually a snow flake or a bit of dust on the sensor. I just turn it off until I get somewhere that I can wipe it clean with some quick detailer. This happens with pretty much all frontal proximity sensors from my experience, just from the dirt and debris that hits the front of the car as you drive. Nothing abnormal.

My car has around 11k km and it has happened a handful of times for reference.

Thanks for the info. It had been a while since I cleaned the front of the car. A lot of rain here. This is the first auto I have had with front sensors. Glad to hear it is normal. I have no other problems with the Genesis that I bought new since I took delivery. This is amazing considering the amount of technology installed on these cars.

I'm having the opposite problem. My front sensors aren't working when I pull into my garage. But if I shift into reverse they start beeping and work fine from there on out.
