  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’m a little surprised that Vik Black isn’t getting any love.

My 2 cents,

I believe these 3 colors show the lines and complement the vehicle the best.
1. Red
2 White
3. Silver
Matte colors do that well too, but maintenance on those is another story...

I originally was going to get the 3.5t in the silver color as I really like silver on most vehicles, but I saw the same spec in the Matte Melbourne Gray and I'm so glad I got that one. I get so many compliments on not only the car, but especially the paint. Get Matte if you're able to.

Honestly the Gray looks SO much better than the silver for the GV70.

I have an order in for Savile Silver w/Burgundy interior.
Burgundy interior sounds so pretty… can’t wait for pictures

Melbourne Gray is my favorite color, it looks fantastic. However, I read from multiple sources that automatic car washes (Even touchless ones) are off limits for this kind of paint, as their soaps are mixed with wax, and that would ruin the paint's matte finish over time, condemning the owner to hand washing only... I so wanted this color, but am really not ready to commit to the extra maintenance. ☹

New owner. Saville Silver. The metallic flakes pop in the sunlight and the color looks gunmetal/silverstone when overcast or at dusk/dawn. A phenomenal color.

Yes, that is correct. I agree that it's more maintenance than I wanted, but truth be told, no cars should really go through a car wash as they slowly but surely damage the paint. I do have to hand wash, yes, but I'll tell you that I've only had to wash my car twice in the 6 weeks I've had it and I use a microfiber towel on it once or twice a week and it stays cleaner than any other car I've ever owned and I've owned 7 before this one.

Is your car kept in a garage? Mine sleeps outside, I have huge tree sap problems in the spring (By the time I see it it's already baked on the car) and road salt during the tough winters here in Canada, I think adding to that having to care extra for matte paint would be cause for me to be inexorably descending into madness... 😉

I do not have one yet, but plan on building one, but even then, it will only be a one car and that car will be my wife's... I have a long driveway so even though I have trees, they don't really effect my car so much.

One of the best silvers out there. Reminds me a bit of Porsche GT Silver Metallic.

Genesis has really stepped up their paint quality, especially in regards to any of the optional more expensive palettes. Icing on the cake.

Consider doing PPF. I am doing mine next week. Have it on my truck and no scratches or bird droppings, salt or swirls in paint.

If have that just on the front of the hood of my current car, but doing the whole car seems to have a rather prohibitive cost (I would go more for ceramic coating with PPF on the hood's front again)...

We'll soon have to add the colors exclusive to the electric GV70, they were displayed in sequence during the introduction video (Light blue, light apple green (Like a '90's Accent), yellow, some dark brown, etc), I don't know how official these were (The yellow looked suspiciously photoshopped as even the front grille was yellow too), I guess we'll find out soon enough...

Seriously struggling between the Himalayan Gray and Cardiff Green, either with a beige interior.
Genesis hired a chief design guy from Bentley and many of those design cues are on the GV70. Just wish some of those bold Bentley-esque colors did too. Absent that gunna have to go with Himalayan Grey. Saw one at a dealer tonite. It’s the opposite of matte Melbourne Gray. Himalayan glitters with lots of metal flake. It blends nicely with the blackened trim and wheels and understates all the black plastic in the back, which is a good thing for me. The Saville Red interior for the Sports Prestige makes up for some of the boldness missing from the exterior colors. Need to see this color combo in daylight but so far this is my favorite.
