  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I used to think so as well. Genesis Silver changed my mind.

Also, living on a dirt road it's the best choice. I wanted Mauna Red and that would have been a disaster.
There's a ton of road salt thrown in the winter here and I absolutely hate sitting in line for 45 minutes for a touchless car wash.

That's why I picked silver. Dark car colours look like garbage during the winters. At least silver hides the road salt relatively well.

My thought process exactly. I would have loved the matte grey but it would look terrible half of the time.

I ordered a 2.5T in Barossa Burgundy...only comes witha black interior option. I'm a bit unsure of the color as it can look more purple than I would like but in the sun, it looks amazing! This will be a looong wait!

Excellent choice. Mine is also burgundy... but in my opinion going for the prestige trim is not the best idea... I got the adv plus partly because I absolutely wanted the vanilla beige interior - it looks awesome!

Black was the only choice for me (in Canada). Why do you think the Prestige is not a good idea?

Brunswick matte green and vanilla beige sitting on the showroom floor totally played with the emotional side of my brain and had to have it…even knowing about the hand washing requirement.

People just start talking to me almost every time I fuel up and start by commenting on the paint. Then it morphs into what is that…yadda yadda.

But I think the color also was the catalyst to some ass clown that was walking by and felt the need to key my hatch…$600 to fix 😢

No mention of the Vik Black in these posts - it seems like a lighter black with quite a bit of shimmer. Any opinions out there if anyone has seen it?

I ordered a vik black. I find with black it makes a big difference when the car is clean and waxed. Although some might find it tedious…

Glad I'm not the only one that ordered a Barossa Burgundy. I was thinking did I make the right choice!!

Nice! When did you order? I'm obsessing a bit during my wait and I'm a bit shy of 2 months, so trying to not drive my family and co-workers crazy talking about it in the meantime! ;)
I just ordered yesterday. So its quite a bit wait! I can understand, I've been obsessed with this car so much. Also, since its my first car I really can't wait. Like it was better before ordering but now its just you keep on counting days.

i'm still trying to figure out my colors ,,,,,,i'm the type that likes to see one in showroom and say thats the one for me

It's quite ridiculous that they don't provide at least small samples (like a rear door) of various colours for display at their show rooms.

Hey, I saw the first Burgundy GV70 in a lot today and I was really surprised how solid brown it looked...no hint of burgundy at all. I know people say they can look brown sometimes on cloudy days or at certain angles but this was a bright, sunny day (though late in the day) and it was a bit dusty. Still, didn't look anything at all like the pictures. I'm really concerned now! Does yours look like this?

If you zoom in to the headlight area you can see the red bias of late afternoon sun, even in the skin tones of your legs in the reflection. Simulations somewhat exaggerated:

I guess I need to see it in different light. I hope I didn't "choose poorly"!

Don't know about Genesis, but some paints are formulated to look a different shade or tint in sunlight. My XT4 is twilight blue but at certain angles in sunlight you see purple. My old 1976 vette was dark green but you could see some blue in the sunlight. Hence, it was called a blue-green paint colour.

That was my impression too...just thought it would look more burgundy/purple-ish most of the time!

Oh I would have been so pissed. Too bad you didn’t catch the loser.

Ordered the exact same trim and colors because that's the only trim you can get vanilla beige in. Then called around different dealers to see if they had a burgundy one on the lot. Genesis Ajax currently has that exact car as a demo. So we drove up to test drive it. Honestly could not be happier with our choice after seeing it in person.

Also, that's the recommended colour combination by the Genesis design team.
