  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’ve had my 2019 3.3t for a few months now and installed a few bolt ons like jb4 and intakes for performance and I love it. I’ve also installed a wireless carplay dongle that is great to not have phone tethered 24/7. I’m installing fumoto oil valve at next oil change and want to install mykeypremium auto start module and wind deflectors.

Are there any cheap quality of life upgrades or mods you guys have made to your cars?

Good thread idea!

Here are some of mine...

$200 will pay for at least 4-5 AutoX events, depending on whether you'rean SCCA (or NASA) member. That would be by far the best first "mod" you could make.

We ran ours bone stock for several events this last season, before we made a single modification. You get to know how your car behaves at the limits and exactly where mods might help. Even if you're a less-than-astute newbie, there are typically pro (or semi-pro) track photographers at these events, and they almost always publish (watermarked) proof photos for prospective buyers to choose from. Pics of your G70 entering/during/exiting corners will tell stories, even if the drivers can't.

Sorry if I sound like a broken record and push a narrative that probably wasn't asked for in a thread like this. With a car like the G70, you really owe it to yourself to give it a try, if you have not already.

I did AutoX for over 10 years and loved it as well. It's a total riot and you really learn excellent car control. Like you've said, the class of car you drive makes no difference because you can have a ton of fun no matter what you drive. It's a brilliant test and tune for your car as well to unlock it's true potential.

Short story, I second your comments!!

There is an insert for the middle arm rest storage area that I think is nice to have. You'll find it on amazon. I have the JB4 as well and like that but I wasn't a fan of the pedal commander device I got. Ended up taking that off.

Im thinking of getting fumoto drain valve on my 19 RWD g70. I have been doing oil changes on my own and not quite sure if i can install it. I dont think there is enough space for it. do you have AWD or RWD?

I purchased the F316L but I didn’t install this time because I needed an adapter ADP-106 to extend it past a lip underneath and didn’t want to wait. I have RWD but that section should be the same.

Oh in that case I will buy the same parts and install it next time I do oil change.
Thanks!

If you want Wireless Android Auto, you can get it on sale for 70 bucks delivered from Target. It's the Motorola one which works great out of the box. I had the AAWireless one and it did not like my Genesis. The motorola does.
I have it and highly recommend.

surprised this idea hasn't been tossed out yet: a cheapo Ebay/used cold air intake!

j/k - i know how we flame CAI as a 'mod'...
+1. Make that +2, since I bought one each for Stinger and G70.

LOL... with a few notable exceptions, most of the "Cold Air" intakes commercially available are a misnomer. Most just suck in heat-soaked engine compartment hot air, rather than cooler air from outside the car.

I ended up modifying the "mod", by adding reflective insulation cladding and additional paneling to make sure the modified CAI only sucks in external air.
