  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Features you wished the G70 had?

That's enough digital for me. I like the balance of analog it has right now.

I would like it to stay in the driving mode you select after restarting the car. At least make it a configurable item.

Adjustable fan speed in the rear.

Better HUD lighting for use with polarized sunglasses.

The nav is wonky on occasion for me. Directions are not always right.

Rear sunshades.
I get it. Still a feature I wish I could have. I wish for many things that'll never happen 😀

Same experience after two weeks of driving I wish the driving mode you turn off the car with was the same when you start it again - at least make it a configurable item.
Additionally, I'd prefer that my seat adjustment, which you can save stay consistent across various driving modes. I get it that the Sport mode could adjust it but any other mode should default to your specific memory setting instead the driving mode settings.

Separate question: Is there somewhere more detail info on each driving mode setting? For example when you are in Eco mode, what are its specific settings.

In the US, the EPA rating is done in default mode and the car should always start in default mode I can leave in ECO, but not SPORT. Looks like the government, not Genesis makes that decision.

I have never seen specifics of the various drive settings, such as shift points. You have probably felt and know the major differences. ECO has lower shift points and the pedal response is softened and takes more pressure and travel to accelerate. Sport is the opposite.

If you have not done so already, cruise at a constant speed, say 40 mph. Change modes and watch the tach. It will jump about 500 rpm when you change to sport and it drops down a gear or two. On the highway at 70, it will be cruising in top gear in every mode.

Thanks EdP. Interesting that government has such influence and control, it would be nice some of that control was shared.
I agree, the rpm is the only indicator that it's easy to spot when shifting between driving modes and that gear upshift/down shift range differences totally make sense. I more curious about the other parameters e.g., is ride comfort impacted (suspension) impacted when shifting to Eco mode. One can easily tell the difference between Sport and Comfort Mode but I'm curious about the Eco and Smart modes settings.

USB audio mode does not have verbal command capability. In my 2013 Camaro I could verbally call for specific song, performer, or file. Very nice and a significant driver distraction reducer.

Hell I'd just be a little happier with a compass on my rear view mirror. Not a lot to ask

On the home screen, it's shown on the map. And it's in the center cluster too....
Thanks I am aware of that.
I just like it on the mirror.
My 2015 Genesis Ultimate had in those areas and the mirror too.
My wife still mentions that she loved that car.
To be honest if that's all I can suggest then all other things are good.

Same here, I miss the mirror compass on my 2016 Genesis a lot.

I'd like my G70 to have auto lock on the doors when the last fob leaves the car, like my C6 Corvettes. I still occasionally walk away from the G70 and leave it unlocked even after 3 months and it may get worse next Spring when I start driving my Vette convertible again...
Enjoy,

Door handles - touch outer button and it locks, touch inside door handle to unlock
Exterior lights - set the amount of time the lights stay on, up to 1 minute
Set the default screen on the infotainment screen
Gear indicator in the HUD
Cruise control button remembers last on/off setting when vehicle turned on

Changing the throttle response to sport in custom settings.

Seriously. What's cool about sport mode is not the gearing advantage, it's the responsive and predictable gas peddle.

This exists already. My custom setting is sport engine/trans, sport steering, and comfort suspension. Drives just like sport but without the stiffness over bumps

  • Second USB for data in the console
  • LED all around the car, esp in the rear
  • Frameless rearview
  • Auto lock on walk away
  • Extra inch in the rear seats

Some customizable LED lighting (like Mercedes has) would be amazing. Especially given how dark the cabin is with the sport trim's all black interior

  1. Being able to leave it in manual mode without having it switch back at low speeds/acceleration. Being a manual driver previously, sometimes I'd just rather be in control, even during mundane driving.
  2. Sensors behind the door handles for keyless entry.
  3. Being able to turn on heated seats with the app during remote start.
  4. LED rear turn/reverse. Remedying this weekend.
  5. Larger fuel tank (not complaining about fuel economy... I knew what I was getting into, haha)
All pretty minor. Driving experience, style and interior quality makes up for all of this... Still a 9/10 car.

I think he's referring to splitting up the transmission/throttle response setting, which I completely agree with.

Sport mode changes the shift points. Keeps the car in a higher gear for a longer time, shifts harder and faster and sharpens the throttle response.

To clarify my point, I just want to change the throttle response in custom mode, so I could put the transmission behavior in either comfort or eco.

You're in luck. You can make the car stay in manual mode and even reach the redline, but within reason, if you use Sport mode and turn off traction and stability.

Of course, Genesis neglected to include this information in the owners manual, haha. I'm gonna have to try this! Might not be the best situation for every day driving, but it'll be good to know when I'm in the twisties!
