Finally Got My V6 Tech Package

I recently received my Sapphire Blue/Beige interior 3.8 with Tech package. Overall I have been very happy with the car. This is my 1st purchase of a Hyundai vehicle.

Pluses:
+Quiet interior. No rattles or squeaks.
+Good fit and finish
+Awesome stereo system--better than my old Bose car system
+Easy to use Nav and controller--I like it better than a Lexus touch screen system and more intuitive than BMW IDrive
+Cooled driver seat
+Solid brakes

Negatives:
-Not sure if it is the V6 or the AISIN transmission but I notice in certain situations the car will not downshift when I need more acceleration. This happens especially with moderate/aggressive turning corners. I just don't feel the juice even if I floor it--it should automatically downshift but it does not. I haven't used the manumatic function yet. Maybe the ZF/v8 package will not have this problem. Maybe it is computer mapping issue with the AISIN.
-Trunk floor seems flimsy and cheap, supported underneath by piece of foam over spare tire.
-No folding rear seats
-IPOD interface is slow and most annoying is that when you use the 'back' function it goes back to the top of previous menu screen. So if you choose to scroll down 'Artists' then take forever to get to 'U2' then select and see their songs then use 'Back' button it will take you back to the top of the 'Artists' screen with the letter A. It should go back to the same artists page as U2. That should be a simple software fix/upgrade by Hyundai.

Actually come to think of it might not be the AISIS gearbox as much as ESC. Though I didn't recall the light coming on while making turns it would make sense. The system would cut power to the accelerator to reduce chance of loss of control during moderate to aggressive turning. Hmm...I guess the system nanny is more intrusive than my old car. I hate to turn off the insurance policy to my brand new $40K ride when having some fun.

I highly dought it's the ESC. If you're on dry pavement and not driving super-aggressively you shouldn't feel it kick in. I've only had it kick in 2x. Both times I was accelerating aggressively around a sharp turn to see if I could get the rear end to kick out and the rear did slide out for about a second before kicking in. It's much less intrusive than Lexus' VDIM system IMO.

Just FYI, in case you didn't know, the "Aisin" transmission is shared w/ other Lexus/Toyota models (Aisin is part of Toyota). I think a few people had issues with abrupt shifts and such over on the Lexus boards. I'm not sure about the reluctance to downshift. For my style of driving, the transmission works pretty well.

Congratulations, lux! Post pictures when you get some time.. That iPod issue IS annoying. It's like that on BMW models as well...
