  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bought the wheels last summer, tested them out 6 months ago; had fitment issues in the front because of the calipers; finally got that resolved a week ago and purchased tires. End result!

Nice must feel good after waiting that long lol

Now that's a wheel/tire setup that REALLY looks good. For me most of the photos of aftermarket wheels on our Genesis just don't quite look right. It seems as if our car, particularly the sedan, just dosen't "mate" with many of the rim choices. Your wheels are probably the best example of a good looking change. It's a change that makes the car look more sophisticated as opposed to merely "showy". That wheel tire combo is an excellent selection Silver Gen. Thank you for sharing.

Good to see you posting. I thought maybe you were lost to this forum. I enjoy your post on both your coupe and sedan. But I hadn't seen your byline in quite some time.

Share some of the details about the fitment issue. Where I to buy a set of aftermarket wheels for my silver Genesis I would steal your ideas.

Rim size with offset. And tire size?

Looks like only your rear windows are tinted.

I would also like to know what your offset is. You said you had caliper clearance issues....did you just add spacers to clear them?

LOL, thanks, and yes Ron it is, not to mention the email war I got in with the wheel manufacturer when I told them about the fitment issue. Their first response was, "Contact the shop you purchased the wheels from" and I wrote back telling them I purchased them directly from them; then was told, "We don't sell directly to the public"; then I had to remind them about the Open House they had and that that was when I purchased the wheels. Then the excuse became, "We don't guarantee fitment".

Long story short, the shop where I first saw the wheels (but of course they were twice what I paid through them versus the direct buy); I've been dealing with them doing mounting and balancing wheels for my coupe and know the manager, so he contacted them and told them the same thing; that the wheels didn't fit, so they finally paid for the spacers that were needed ($20).

Thanks Vince! I had looked around a lot and seen other wheels and felt the same way. I finally chose these because to me they looked good and less aftermarket than most of the other wheels I had seen. And then of course, I'm a fan of the Hankook V12's; had them on my Sonata and have them on my coupe and couldn't wait to get them on my sedan.

As far as posting, I hadn't done anything lately so that's why I hadn't posted. And then I was drooling to get the 2015 but my math calculations didn't work out, so I'm back on the "mod" train for this one, lol. I'm about to put on a rear window spoiler as well as the trunk spoiler and have the aluminum pedals to put on too; pictures will follow!

The fitment issue was with the wheels fitting over the front calipers. The rears fit fine, no problem, but when tightened down all the way, the wheels on the front would not spin because they were hitting the caliper. I think the sedan calipers are even thicker than the Brembo coupe calipers. Ultimately some very thin spacers solved the problem (and I need to do a little paint job on that one caliper, lol)!

Xiaphin, rim size is 20 X 8 with 40 offset. I don't really understand the whole offset thing, but the manager at the place where I had them mounted and balanced said the offset should be 35 or lower to fit over that front caliper. Tires are Hankook Ventus V12 evo 2 K120's, 245 40 20. I had originally ordered 255 45 20, but the tire shop was great! They contacted me prior to the sale and told me they wouldn't fit; too wide, would rub, so switched to the "smaller" size (and also saved $10 per tire)!

I was very hesitant to go any lower than 40 because I wanted some meat on the tire to protect the rims in case of pot holes etc.

That's the look I wanted to fool the police too, lol. The rears are "limo" tinted and then the front's are, I think 35%; but since the rears are so dark, they make the front look like they aren't tinted at all. But when the front windows are partially rolled down, then you can see the difference and the fact that they are tinted. I've had this "setup" on all my vehicles and have never been pulled over for tinted windows as many of my friends have.

Chewbakorox, thanks for asking. Prior two posts should help; and yes spacers solved the problem, but very thin ones; 1/8 in. which is 3.75 mm. Any other questions, just let me know; glad to answer! :D
