  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know Hyundai is starting its own Brand with the "Genesis" and that they haven't really got any departments open? So what happening with the Hyundai Genesis sedans? I mean as for searching for them in Hyundai dealerships? So far I've found majority all the Genesis I was looking at on other websites like cargurus.com rather than Hyundaiusa.com. What':gee:s the deal?!

I never got a complete answer from any dealer when I was searching but I noticed most of the cars I looked at showed they were located at more than 1 dealer and also had auction sale listed on the history. I believe it’s due to most of the cars were used as demos or loaners as they sat on the lot and when the G80's were finally released Hyundai bought/took the cars back still on lots and then auctioned them off to dealers who were doing better in sales. So these leftover cars are being transferred all around so often Hyundai's website can’t keep track. I was at a dealer one day who had 6 new/demos which they sold all before I could get my payoff for my old car less than a week later. A manager told me they bid on them constantly and a week later they had another truck load of demos. I found my car by just searching all the local dealer sites and cargurus daily for about 2 months as the inventory changed daily. With the discounts they are offering to clear these out they are not sitting long in my area.

The transition to dedicated Genesis Motors dealers will take about 3-5 years to complete. They don't have enough models yet (two new CUV/SUV's and a smaller G70 sedan are coming) for a dealer to be profitable as a standalone entity. In the USA, car dealers are not owned by the manufacturer (per most state laws in the USA) and they have to find corporations or entrepreneurs who are willing to invest millions in building a new dealership.

Therefore, many existing Hyundai dealers (but certainly not all) will still sell the G80 for the time being, and a smaller number of Hyundai dealers will sell the G90 (only 50% of Hyundai dealers sold the 2011-2016 Hyundai Equus). You can visit the dealer website to see if they sell Genesis Motors vehicles and what their inventory looks like.

The above notwithstanding, Hyundai and Genesis Motors have separate websites, even though many Hyundai dealers are still selling the Genesis Motors G80.
