  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First post after 2015 5.0 purchase.

Really good looking car. Know it's ESG, but the way the light catches it, it almost looks Montecito Blue. As to the wheels, I've comment before, if the car came with something different, and these wheels were available as aftermarket, we'd see them showing up on the car at extra cost. I understand, Genesis is going to stop offering the V8 on any model. So nice you snagged one. They seem difficult to find.

Yeah the V8 sedan is a dying breed period. Glad I got one!

That was actually somewhat of a deciding factor for recently getting my 5.0. And also knowing how nice and fun they are since my wife has one...

To get that for 21k is insanely good. I got an Ibiza Blue 5.0 with 40k miles for 26k out the door in March for comparison. Congrats!!!

Thanks alot, really love the car. Drove my wife's FX35 to work today and realized how spoiled the car has made me. It's like driving a gocart compared to the Genesis.

Enjoy! (y) The v8 makes the car, imho.
All the electronics and safety gizmos are cool, but putting the pedal to the floor and feel that big 5.0 come to life is where the thrill lies. Dramatic difference from the 3.8.
Your car looks great, we have the same 2015 but with the ivory interior. You are so right about the 5.0 V8, just love it. It was my wife's idea to get the V8 & she was right! Best car we have ever owned. Hope it runs forever

Beautiful car!

As much as I want some new wheels, I tend to agree as well. I'm starting to come around to forgetting aftermarket "sporty" wheels and have been considering the 2018 factory wheels or at least replicas (which I do like better than the '15 wheels on the 5.0). There's a certain elegance that factory wheels lend to this car and it's body lines that the cool aftermarket wheels don't. It's almost like they don't match up with the sheet metal with the same aesthetic cohesion that the factory wheels do. I think Mercs, Audi's, and BMW's get away with it better than this car.

That said, there's some great looking rides on this forum with aftermarket wheels and I still may get some.
The 2018 G80 5.0 has the same style wheels as the 2015 5.0 model. The wheel design is just that good.:)

You must be referring to the sport wheels or the 3.8 V6 wheels.

Yep. The sport wheels.

Congratulations! I also have the Empire State Grey '15 5.0 Ultimate. The ONLY change I am considering is either Yokohama or Michelin 19" tires when the current Continentals wear out. I'm an old V8 kinda guy and I still shake my head knowing this 5.0 Tau puts out that kind of horsepower. Pushes a 4500+ pound car quite well.

I think ESG is the best color on these cars (of course I'm biased - mine's a ESG 5.0 as well). I did want Ibiza Blue over white, but those seem to be pretty rare... Love how smooth the car is. Makes my old Infiniti G seem like an oxcart powered by a coffee grinder!

Awesome choice! Congrats.

Any anyone who commented in this tread do a roll call of the tires they have on their 5.0? I currently have Continental DWS06s and I'm not really pleased, they flat spot very quickly.

I like my Continental DWS06s , but I drive it to work 5 days a week..........

and usually both off days for errands.
Maybe I need to start driving the other car to work, but what fun would that be...........:p

I bought mine as a CPO and they installed a new set of Continental Pro Contact TW's (OE tire). I have no complaints with their performance on my daily driver. Still, the model seems to have a history of being susceptible to sidewall issues. So that - and the much higher price - are telling me to replace them with Yokohamas or Michelins when the time comes.
