  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello Everyone!

First time Genesis owner here. Just bought a used G90 5.0 AWD last weekend. I am a previous Acura/Infiniti/BMW owner. Read through the posts regarding the hassles and challenges in activating the Blue Link system - as I already tried three times today after a reset (sigh). So, I just called a Compustar T12 Remote Starter installer and scheduled an install this weekend! I used to have a Compustar remote starter on my 2010 BMW X5 35d and it's rated for three miles in optimal conditions. I successfully remote-started that BMW X5 as I was landing on a commercial flight one time and it worked! It is expensive but will pay -off in the long term compared to that Blue Link subscription, in my opinion.

Do you have a connected services subscription? If not, no amount of resets are going to help.
Have to looked at the TSB that restores connected services that went offline in January as a result of the 3G sunset?

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on your new Genesis G90. :)

How much do those go for if you dont mind me asking?
$1300 + another $200 for a wire harness so I did not have to give up one of my FOBs , + tax. This is in South Florida and you can probably find it cheaper in your area. It is the kit that includes the Pro T13 LCD and R5 LED two-way remotes. You can also choose a kit with two R5 remotes for a cheaper price. Install time on my G90 was 5 hours!!

My Genesis app is showing my remote subscription is good until Jan 23, 2024. I just purchased the new Compustar Pro T13 remote starter, so problem solved.

So you paid $1,500 now as opposed to $300/year (assuming you connected services got it working and less any discount) . And you expect to keep the car for another 5 years to break even. Is that what your opinion was based on?
