Flashing check engine light...

Just jumped in the car. Has a flashing check engine light immediately come on and the car idled funny and a lack of power. Took it to the dealer night drop box. Hopefully it's nothing major. Last time I had a check engine light it was a "historical code" for a cylinder 8 misfire. They cleared the code and said "hopefully it was nothing, bring it back if it comes back on". That was about two months ago.

My previous 09 V8 Genesis did this probably 4 or 5 times in the 6 yrs I owned it. Each time, I immediately turned it back off, let it sit for about 30 seconds and turned it back on and all was normal?! Seemed like it was some sort of engine sensor gremlin that caused it to misfire, I never actually brought it to the dealer since it went away each time immediately after restarting the car.

I tried to let it sit for about 20 min hoping that was the case. It immediately came back. I'll just have to wait and see what the dealer says.

We had weird little things happen to our 2012 up until we finally replaced the OEM battery. Like suggested, try to disconnect the battery and reconnect after a few minutes. If this seems to work I would suggest you consider replacing your battery with a new reputable battery with plenty of cranking amps and power reserve. I can't explain why but what could that hurt?

Dealer just called. They ordered 8 new injectors. 0_o

It's got a new (2016 OEM) battery in it.

#4 injector open circuit. It will be a few days before the parts come in.

They replaced all the injectors and the harness. Issue still persists. It's been a week now. They want to replace the injector drive box. Technician did tell me the injectors had a lot of carbon on them.

Whelp. Flashing light and running like garbage came back tonight. Its back at the dealership. We'll see what they say tomorrow. This is highly frustrating.

Dealer just called. Same codes as before. They called their "Tech line" for advice how to proceed. I'm rather disappointed.
