  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone ever experienced the back seat led lights flicker on a cold night?

I checked again today and it's not flickering no more. I am located in Florida so it's not too cold as if I was up north. I think it was around 35 degrees that night it occurred.

I'm going to mention it to my dealer at next oil change, but I was just curious if anyone else had a similar flickering problem, especially for those who are in 0 degree weather.

Might be a sticky switch in the door jam that indicates whether the door is open or closed.

I had something like that happen in my camry. They wouldnt flicker all the way off. Kinda like the brightness would go from 100 to 70% about 3-4 times a second.

Turned out that one cell in the battery died.

replaced the battery, and no more problem
this was during the summer though

The summer heat is tough on batteries, the yota dealer said that they normally last 2-3 years with the heat here.

Yes, I had this Issue. According to the dealer it was caused by a bad earthing connection somewhere on the vehicle. As was the freezing in ACCEPT Mode
and the A/C turning itself as and when it felt like it..
The lights have so far been ok, but the Accept Mode & A/C problems remain.
I'm meeting with a Hyundai Area Manager next week................

Only 2-3 years? Wow, the one in my Highlander (Camry w/SUV body) last 5+ years before it finally died, and I was one happy guy!! And you're exactly right about summer being harder on batteries than winter. Sometimes it's winter before symptoms show up, but, the heat is way harder on a battery than very cold weather.

sometimes you can get more, but it stays in the upper 80's low 90s here through most of the year.

This problem happened when they took out the battery to work on the VVTI system. They said the heat over time and the extra shaking the battery got when it was removed killed one cell. The dealer replaced the battery since it wasnt doing it before i brought it in. That was 3 years ago. The wife is now driving it
