  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

brand new member here, and I have two questions (sorry if there is already a thread on them, didn't see it)
anyhow just bought a 15 sedan with ultimate pkg and was wondering why it doesn't have fog lamps? cant imagine why not? car was never wrecked, and even the interior control lever doesn't match the one in the owners manual.
next question
whats the deal when it comes to radar detectors? any have issues with this car? what ones do you guys like?
if there is already threads on this, would you mind posting the link?
thx
mike

search for the thread on radar detectors. there are many.

a picture of your stalk might help.

RE: Fog Lamps. Only the 2015 V8 Genesis Ultimates are equipped with the fog lights. I agree, it's odd. However, the 2016 V6 Ultimates have fog lights as standard equipment. The stalk for the fog light equipped vehicles is indeed different.

The collision warning systems set off radar detectors that are more than a couple years old. The fix is to have yours upgraded or replace it. I purchased an Escort Max 360 and really like it.

I also have a Max 360, and while the collision warnings (both from my car and from other cars, especially Acuras) still set it off it got a lot quieter after a firmware update (1.4). The arrows are a little slow to respond (not nearly as quick as a V1), but hey got a little quicker after the most recent firmware update (1.5). Overall, I'm satisfied with range, sensitivity, and ramp-up. If you search, you'll find a thread with details on how to wire it into your mirror, which I highly recommend.

If I were going to buy a detector right now, I'd probably go with the Escort iX. It has even more advanced filtering, and from what I've read seems pretty well reviewed. I recommend reading the reviews on the radar detector forums before you make your final decision, as they go into a lot more detail than I can.

Welcome and congrats . In regards to radar detectors I've had Escort 9500ix and now have the Valentine 1. The Escort has better filtering and less false K Bands but IMO the Valentine one is far superior in 360 range. It's nice having the arrows on the Valentine one as well so you know where the signal is coming from. My ideal radar would be the new escort Max 360 but I'm not willing to drop $650 for it. I also have mine hard wired and most it right next to the rearview mirror. Whatever radar you decide to get you should defiantly hard wire it.

thanks for the input guys.
after doing some research, I went a cheaper route
and bought the uniden dfr7. $300. just need to hardwire
to the mirror now
