  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This happens all the time with my V8-Tech: I start the car, and immediately the windshield fogs up, and sometimes the front-side windows, and then the fog starts to recede. This happens in ALL types of weather. My climate control setting is on Auto, sometimes the ASQ is on, sometimes off. Has anyone else had this problem? This even happened shortly after delivery of the car. It's never been wet inside the car, and I guarantee I was not disctracted by a pelican and drove it into a marsh.

Thanks!

Appears to be a normal occurrence, I live in sunny and dry southern California and experience the same as you describe.

Happens to me as well. I'm up here in New England though and thought it was normal.

Same thing with my V6 Genesis. Fogs up for a minute and then clears up.

With mine, it only happens in warm moist conditions, certainly not all the time. I do leave the auto-defogging set to on most of the time.

I only have had it happen when it's raining. Then again, I live in a desert w/ very low humidity most of the year.

Well, a desert hmmm? I'm looking forward to winter up here, and you're bragging about living in a desert? lol. Thank you all for your input. At the very least, I know I'm not the only one with this fogging gig.

I live on the west coast of Canada. This happen all the time. Warm, cold, hot, cool, didn't make any different.

Only two or three times in a year, most recently early this week. My normal setting (99 percent of the time) is 72 degrees, Auto.
From a small sample size, it seems to happen around 40-45 degrees.
Otherwise I don't experience what you describe.

Bought my Genny in May. I started to notice the fogging this Fall. I'm in Southern MD. I run in AUTO mode all the time. We'll see if it stops next Spring.

For what it's worth, my dealer told us when we picked ours up that if the cabin air filter wasn't changed at recommended intervals that the windshield would fog up. I believe that he also stated that it was supposed to be changed at around 15,000 miles.

No fogging issues at all after almost a year.

I never really think about the defroster in this car, which is nice.

Great post, thought it was only me! Now in the thick of winter, it hasn't happened in a while, but the fogging was a regular occurence from May-Sept. If it really bothered me I'd have looked into it more, but obviously not, but this post does help me from thinking it's just my car.

I just get fogged-up windows when usually cool and damp out. Running the defogger generally clears the windshield in a minute or two. I've seen this problem happen on other vehicles I've owned.
