  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have just encountered this on Saturday. I went into a restaurant and when I came back, my driver side mirror was already unfolded and was making a whirring noise, like the motor could not catch whatever the mirror uses to fold. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you fix it?

I saw that but I wasn't sure if it was the motor or not.

Seems like you have two choices.
1. Replace entire mirror assembly.
or
2. Disassemble mirror and replace any broken parts found, usually it's the gear mentioned.

Ya they have some really crappy cheapo plastic gears in those mirrors.had my passenger side mirror go belly up on me ,luckily it was still under warranty so cost was zero ,they replaced the entire mirror and with painting….they only come in a primer coat the cost would have been over a Grand…..
