  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Maybe of interest to some here. My wife's cube came with this feature which allows you to select the colour of the lighting in the footwell. I have also seen these in younger kids rides under the seats and various other places. It is basically bars of colour changing LED lights where you can change the frequency of colour to display what you want, even solid non changing colour however these are usually upwards of $200 for the kit. While I was fixing up my daughters car she commented she would like this installed in her car however I was not going to dish out that kind go money for lights.

I happened to go to Ikea one day and bought this. http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/50192365/ I cut out the 12v transformer and used an ignition activated 12v circuit. Has been working flawlessly to teenage abuse for the last 10 months. Is even brighter and better than the stock Nissan stuff and at a reasonable $40. :D

If my life depended on it, I couldn't tell you the color of the lighting in the footwell of either of my cars. Back in my dating days, I suppose, this might have been an important issue to me at the drive-in movies.

The only thing I would change in my interior lighting would be those glaring "daylight" tint map lights.

I find the map lights rather nice to be honest with you and are of the LED cool white variety towards a blueish tint around 6500K. I actually changed all the bulbs to led to match this colour throughout even the trunk and licence plate lights. Unfortunately for you even the newer refrigerators have this colour combo in them and seems to slowly becoming the norm. Personally I would not install the color bars originally posted however some here with Coupes may really like the bargain and appreciate the post. My 17 year old daughter and all her friends think it is the coolest thing in the world.

I was on the genesisclub korean site looking for some headlight installation images... and found these instead. Found them interesting, even though it's not my cup of tea:

And even though this isn't remotely related to the OP... how freaking cool is that Coupe kit?!?!?

I shopped the Buick LaCrosse before I bought the Genesis. They have the same blue light bar we have but they have it all over the place. On the doors, all across the dash at the top and botoom of the dash, etc. It was a beautiful sight when I turned the LaCrosse engine on. By the the time the test drive was over I found the lighting to be distracting.

When done right ambient lighting is awesome. But it can be overdone.
