  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After owning several Genesis(s) and Equus(s), I'm sad to say I decided to move on.

I loved the Equus, dealer always went out of their way to give me the Equus "treatment". I had no complaints...well maybe one,but it wasn't the car's fault.

I've gotten older. I've decided I wanted something easier to get in and out of, something more utilitarian.

Last time the oil was changed in the Equus, I asked for a sante fe loaner. I ended up buying the most tricked out one they made so it wouldn't be too bad to trade down. It was sort of funny-the salesman didn't know what kind of car I had when I said I wanted to look at a sante fe. He asked me that-what did I currently drive and when I said an Equus he thought I was kidding.

So that's that. Enjoy your cars, I enjoyed mine. It was a pleasure to drive.

I hope that Hyundai makes a premium SUV/CUV soon based upon the Genesis/Equus. I would be a buyer. We need to get my wife a new ride and are looking at Crossovers from BMW, Merc, Infinity, Lexus, etc. Wish Hyundai made one with the Tau V8 :)

The closest I could find was a Kia Sorento SXL.

I got my wife a 2016 SX and absolutely love it. No V8 but a peppi V6 with AWD.

Been a Kia fan for a long time.... She had a 2006 Sportage for 9 years which hopefully I'm selling today. 171K on it with not one major issue. That was also a V6.

Which version of the Santa Fe did you get? That's a pretty luxurious crossover SUV and I have no doubt there will be a Genesis badged version very soon. My brother-in-law just bought one a few weeks ago and he loves it...

I bought the Sante Fe Ultimate with AWD. It has nav (though touch screen-different than Equus),infinity radio, blind spot warning, panoramic sunroof and love the auto liftgate. It has the whole proximity key thing as well as the Equus sound at start up (can turn it off). After being in the Equus I wanted as many things as I could get.

Ya know its the little things though. I can hear it when I drive over gravel. Sounds funny but I haven't heard that in years-I had to laugh. I can change the steering feel from normal to comfort to sport and the ride is OK but oh the Equus ride. I miss the air quality button- who knew I'd miss that. It's has good acceleration as well. But no one at the gas station is gonna ask me -hey what kind of car is that and have me say its a Hyundai and see the disbelief on their faces. But I like the Sante Fe and it suits me now.

I slum in a Santa Fe Sport. In many ways it's more fun driving that than the Genesis.

Yeah, nice CUV. I have a feeling the "next one" is going to wear the Genesis badge and be more up your alley. Next time...
