  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Forward Collision Avoidance

Sounds like you need to trade the Genesis in for a Kia.

OH, you got jokes.... Well, you my man, are the definition of "trollin"... Have fun with that. Mele Kalikimaka ame A Hau'oli Makahiki Hoe, bra...aloha whale.jpg

No jokes. Sounds like you are not happy with your Genesis. You should get something that makes you happy. Driving is difficult as it is due to the way people drive. If your vehicle hinders your ability, then you should consider moving on. Ranting on a user forum that has no Genesis input will get you nowhere.

[*]Turn off collision avoidance FOR GOOD! Do Not require us to either use “warn” or anything else of said setting, but allow us to turn it off for good! I'm not kidding when I explained that there is a slight curve in the road by my home and for some idiotic reason, the car thinks that at 30mph, I'm going to launch off into the parked vehical on said curve.. I get chocked by the seatbelt and scared because I forget to turn off the setting sometimes. It shocks me and I hate it! 30mph on a SLIGHT CURVE!

Some decisions are made by lawyers, not the engineers. I watched the local news this morning and three different law firms advertised. They are just waiting for someone that turned off the avoidance feature to have an accident.

I see only two scenarios. Keep turning it off or, since you know the road, slow down to go around it.

What's wrong with ranting? That's the only way manufacturers change their ways. Otherwise, how do they know customers are not happy about something? And yes, I hate that darn feature too, especially since it reverts to ON every time you start the vehicle. If it was there for others who like it, great. But basically forcing you to use it is not nice. And contrary to other features like the idiotic ISG (stop/start), which manufacturers get credit with the EPA for always reverting to ON too, there's no reason to always revert those 'driver aids' to ON. But I suspect stupid lawyers fear legal action, so they do it to prevent lawsuits.

I wonder if not defaulting it to on would also reduce the safety score rating that it gets?

I hate it too. Like one of the earlier replies said, just set it to "late". It hasn't activated even once since I made that change.

I also put it in 'late' right away, but still activates with safe but aggressive passes. With the ahole truckers around here, I have to pass on the right, or would be forced to drive behind trucks going much slower forever. And a few ahole car drivers that refuse to move over even when driving below the speed limit as well. With one pass, it actually activated, scaring the crap out of me (and my wife), and almost causing an accident.
