  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The preview states:

"Significantly, when the Genesis sedan was introduced for model-year 2009, the word “Hyundai” did not appear anywhere on it; a stylized “H” logo sufficed. It’ll be interesting to see if Hyundai has become confident enough to put its full name on the freshened 2011 model."

Does Hyundai put anything other than the "H" on any of their cars? What are they talking about?

If an 8-speed transmission is available, I wonder if it will be a Hyundai design or from ZF or Aisin. I would be very leery of a new Hyundai transmission, but that is just my personal opinion.

The article uses the wrong competitors though.

Yes, preview is the exact description of that articles info. The 8 speed is tantilizing.

It will be interesting to see an actual review of the 8 speed once it's out.

Since we are the preeminent Genesis website, maybe they can provide some handy information about the slow shifts in lower gears.

Who knows, maybe the new 8 speed tranny addresses this issue?

Since most of us are driving 2009/10 models, introducing the 8-speed does not address our current issue.

Sometimes the 'fix' is to upgrade to the latest release.
