If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. WONDERFUL! I am all over this one. I will post pics after I get them installed.
Thanks for letting us know!:D

I'd definitely like to see bigger, real-world pictures of how the moldings look, as well as your thoughts on how closely it matches the OEM paint and whether it does (as I fear it might) make the body look too busy. Bottom panel moldings, door line panel crease, chrome trim PLUS this mid-line molding might be too much. Hard to tell with the small website pics. TIA!

Okay, so I jumped on an eBay auction that had factory-paint matched side moldings for $89 shipped (auction title: PAINTED HYUNDAI GENESIS BODY SIDE MOLDINGS 2009). Here's the result:

Installation was relatively straightforward, although it took me a while to mock up and tape where I wanted the moldings. The generic instructions advised to measure from the bottom of the front and back door at a desired height and tape a line. Well, since both the door crease and the bottom molding line are sloped compared to the chassis, I found it more pleasing to measure from the top of the lower moldings (9 1/2 inches, to be precise).

Quality of the moldings is pretty good. Paint is a pretty good match. Tape on the back is a little thick so the moldings don't fit flush with the body, but you don't really notice unless you're right up on it. The rear pieces are so long that they curve with the contour of the back door. We'll see whether the auto tape is up to the pressure in the long run.

Overall, the price was right, it looks good, and hopefully it'll save a ding, which would more than justify the cost.

Thanks dataguy for the pics!

With the molding installed in definitely reminds me of the M35/45 from the side. I'm not sure I love the way they look in conjunction w/ the lower door rub strips. It's a bit too busy for my taste, but don't get me wrong, they don't look bad. Hopefully they will save you from a costly dent/ding or two. :)

Nice work. Looks factory to me! Nice to have that buffer from those who are not as careful when opening their doors.

Thanks. It's a little unnerving to put something so sticky and relatively permanent by hand. :)

I agree that it's slightly busy (as I thought it might be), but I think it's probably better to have busy rather than dented.

I wonder if the OEM door moldings from the Azera would work. Provided they just stick on like the ones above and the length is close enough they should. The only reason why I wonder is because I think like how they have a subtle band of chrome trim that would tie in nicely with the rub strips on the bumpers. Granted I don't know if they Azera and Genesis share any paint colors, so it's probably more trouble than it's worth.
