  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone ever used the CH11934 Fram oil filters? How do they compare with the OEM filters.

Frame filters are garbage.

Seriously? Always thought they were a Quality product.

Nope. I've been in the car industry for about 20 years, and I see failures from Fram filters more than any other by far.

Good to know, while I’ve used them with no problems ( that I know of) I was always a AC DELCO man myself.

Delco is good, as long as it's not the new design where the part number ends with an 'E'. Saw the filter material collapse on a couple Corvettes causing a loss of oil pressure. Same problem I see with Fram. Delco discontinued the oil filter my dad used on his 9 second Nova, so he bought some sort of Fram race filter. It collapsed on his first pass down the track causing loss of pressure. Borrowed a filter from a friend at the track, threw it on, and pressure came back, but the damage had already been done.

100% agree.

Fram oil filter = ~$10

Genesis OEM = ~$15

spend the extra $5 and be safe, warranty can't be questioned if you are using OEM products.

Look at Bob The Oil Guy's website. He did a super detailed break down of filters.

Do not use anything but the OEM filter in the Genesis; 3.8, 3.3T or 5.0. You'll run into oil starvation problems with any other make. Fram filters for the Genesis, are not made by Fram and are junk.
