  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello guys just letting you all know.

Hyundai is offering free map update on certain 2012 models .

Santa Fe Genesis and equss. With touch screen and dis.

Call your local dealer and find out, this just started yesterday.

I will post more details later

it didnt look like the genesis was included. let us know if the dealer does this for you.
thanks

I took possession of my 2012 R-spec in early December 2012. The manufacture date overlapped with the release date of the nav map so my car had a previous version. When I discovered this I contacted the dealer and asked for an update at no cost which they did.

Is this what this update is about or something else?

no, its a simple promotion that Hyundai is doing.

they are offering free map updates. to certain 2012 sante fe/equss and genesis with touchscreen/dis navigation.

any more info ?????

Yes, it's a random selection of vehicles.

Hyundai is covering labor and everything for this.

It's considered a campaign for 2012 vehicles, this offer ends towards the middle of December. Call or go into your local dealers and find out if your vehicle has it. They should know what to do

Just called Patrick's Hyundai of Palatine in IL and they said only Sonatas are covered by that campaign. Nothing showed up when they checked my VIN number.

I have a 2012 Premium.

Just got a post card today from "Hyundai Assurance/Car Care" offering a complimentary map update. Refers to Service Campaign P17.

Says it will take about 3 hours!

I have a 2012 4.6 purchased in August of 2011.

I called my dealership and my vehicle is not included. So I called Hyundai Assurance, and they confirmed the existence of the campaign, it is only for "select" vehicles, my vehicle is not included, and they would not add my vehicle to the campaign, bummer.

Make sure they put your car on a battery charger during the load. We've had reports that some shops have actually run the engine during the whole map install.

I got the post card today, 2012 R spec bought in Dec' 12.

Hey thanks Ron I actually have my car at Lehman hyundai right now getting the update

2012 3.8 Premium

Funny, I have a '12 premium and I'm included in the Nav upgrade campaign. I bought another Hyundai recently, maybe that has something to do with it?

I just purchased mine as a used CPO, am second owner of it. Wonder if that makes any difference?

I took my 2012 Equus to the dealer for regular servicing on Tue 10/14. I mentioned the free map update and he said he hadn't heard of it. So he looked it up and couldn't find anything for my vehicle.

It seems everyone who has received a postcard has the premium package. Has anyone received a free update for the tech package? (The 2012 tech package update takes 5 hours and costs $300, mostly labor)

Got my card in the mail last night. '12 R Spec purchased Nov '11.

Funny thing is the wife handed me a stack of papers from the mail for the shreader. I just happen to look thru them and found the card. Almost made it in the shreeder.

I had contacted my dealer about a year ago about an update. Several people at that time had posted that they had gotten free updates. My dealer wanted $300 bucks for the update at that time so I passed.

Guess waiting has paid off. I'm calling my dealer today to set up an appointment for the free update. Offer expires 12/15/2014

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Took my '12 4.6 in today. After a 2.5 hour wait, the service adviser came out and advised me the download process had "crashed" the car's computer and I would require a new head unit.

Driving a brand new Sonata Limited as a pro gratis rental until the new head unit can be installed. Nice ride!
