Last month, I got a new 2014 BMW 335i sedan, and sold my 2011 Genesis 4.6. I'd like to share my experiences.
My Genesis had 53,000 miles, in good condition, but had a few small dents.
Carmax offered 15,000.
BMW dealer offered 15,500.
Hyundai dealer offered 16,800, and I sold it to them.
When I bought it in 2011, I paid 35,000.
The BMW had MSRP 49,500, and I paid 42,200.
The reason for downsizing is that I wanted a smaller, sportier ride, so I got the BMW with the sport suspension.
This car is exactly what I needed!
It has a nice firm ride, handles well and, surprisingly, absorbs bumps a bit better than the Genesis did.
On the freeway, the BMW had more wind and road noise than the Genesis, but it was not objectionable.
There is also more prominent engine noise but of the pleasant type, in line with the sporting character of the car.
If I had been in the market for another mid size luxury car, I would have gone with the 2015 Genesis without a doubt, but I just wanted a change.
