  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I own a 2012 Rspec 5.0 and have rebadged the trunk, wheels, and steering wheel but didn't like the size and mounting location for the hood on the aftermarket wings. The wings were just too big for my taste and seemed to dominate the hood when applied. I don't have a picture but what I did was purchase the steering wheel badge (ebay) and mounted it on the chrome upper portion of the grille, centered near the top on the verticle chrome upright. The size is perfect and will nestle in on the verticle chrome upright near the top of the grille and when installed it looks nearly factory. If you fiddle with it to find the flattest area and then supplement the "sticky" adhesive with a small 1/2" piece of double sided tape in the center of the back, it aids in getting a good solid fit. When its done it provides a subtle but factory look without cluttering up the smooth graceful hood lines. I don't know how the badge will hold up over time, but for $10 each, I'll just replace it if it starts to deteriorate. A couple of tips, use a hair dryer to heat up the chrome strip and the adhesive on the badge to aid adhesion and allow slight forming of the badge to match the gentle arc of the chrome.

I prefer the hood naked, but would like to see a photo of your project.

I agree, the hood looks best "naked" but adding the badge to the front grille, gives a little highlight to an otherwise blank front end. Unfortunately I'm unable to reformat my images for attachment. I'll try to load them.
