If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys, I am not getting any air in front to defog and when set to front, the center 2 vents blow nothing. The front vents by face and feet are blowing air fine. Temp is fine as well, its definitely gets hot but i get nothing on the windshield and with winter here, the inside windows get foggy and even form ice but when your damn front defrost isnt working, takes forever for it to melt and i have no visibility for a while. Any ideas what it could be? Dont think its blend doors since those control temp.
The air coming out is whistling so I am assuming a flap is blocked or something but no idea where it is or how to tackle this

There are air temperature blend doors that control temperature by controlling how much air goes through the heater core. It does sound like that is working on your car, but there are also air direction doors that determine where the air comes out, and whether fresh air comes in or cabin air is recirculated. It sounds like one or more of those has failed. They are controlled by actuators that are nearly the same as the temperature blend ones. Probably, one or more of those has failed and should be replaced.

Thanks for this info, yea I wasn't sure what else it could be, any idea what it's called exactly?

Actuator - Mode Door, for example.

Wish I had seen your pages earlier, I had to learn this the hard way for dash removal. Excellent explanation
I agree, this is amazing. So just that bottom piece on the driver side needs to be removed to change that part? That's much better than ripping the whole dash apart. Would my rear window defrost not working as well be because of this also?

I believe the rear window defrost is all electric heating elements in the glass(black line). Might be a fuse? I left the bracing in after the lower dash was removed and removed the lower blast tube that is held in by one screw to the bracing that would be right in front of your right knee if you were sitting in the seat.

Fuse, switch, wiring, component. Check 'em all.
This is true. I had an '06 V6 Sonata prior to my '14 Genesis and kept replacing the 3rd brake light bulb and finally found the plastic connector was fitting correctly but the wiring "metal {male to female} pins were abnormally loose causing the bulb to blow. A few small ty-wraps solved the problem.

Cool. question, is there somewhere online i can grab this manual from?

Check your PMs.

My windshield is not getting the air when I put it on it so the door/lever is broken/stuck and whistling as noted here.

Is this the same actuator you have listed and will require dissembling the dash i assume? The dealer quoted me $4200 for this lol.
